"Zodiak II" & "Planeta I" Ships
The first ship that crossed the Vistula Spit canal "Zodiac II", the twin ship "Planet I" are equipped with transformers manufactured by ELHAND Transformatory!
Seven ET3SM-type transformers ranging from 63 to 500kVA are installed on each unit. The transformers were manufactured under the supervision of the Polish Register of Shipping (PRS).
The Zodiac II is a multi-purpose special task unit powered by diesel-electric propulsion, consisting of three main power generators of 1590 kW each and one 220 kW emergency unit. The energy they generate is transferred to two 1400 kW azimuth thrusters and an additional 850 kw thruster. Such a set allows the ship to accelerate to a speed of about 13 knots.
Zodiak II is a true showpiece of the Polish fleet owned by the Maritime Office in Gdynia. The Elhand transformers inside are the result of our long-term cooperation with Remontowa Shipbuilding shipyard.
